This is the high quality long fine line flax fibre suitable for hand spinning. We’re told it is beautiful to work with; soft, fine yet strong.
This flax fibre has been sustainably grown on Mallon Farm, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The crop supports biodiversity on the farm.
It has been harvested by hand and water retted using harvested rain water. Water is reused as fertiliser restoring nutrients back into the soil.
After drying the flax has been broken and scutched in a 1940’s Mackie’s Scutching Turbine. It has been carefully hackled by hand by Charlie Mallon.
