Ready to be hackled by hand, this flax fibre will yield both long line fibre and shorter tow fibre. (You could get 30% fine line depending on your tools and technique)
This flax fibre has been sustainably grown on Mallon Farm, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The crop supports biodiversity on the farm.
It has been harvested by hand and water retted using harvested rain water. Water is reused as fertiliser restoring nutrients back into the soil.
After drying the flax has been broken and scutched in a 1940’s Mackie’s Scutching Turbine.
