Designed to tell the story of transforming flax into linen.
This box contains 80g – 100g of each type of our regeneratively grown flax fibre; rough tow, good tow, scutched and hackled fine line, all grown and processed here on Mallon Farm. There is also 10m of hand spun yarn, a sample of linen and a factsheet detailing the stages and methods of growing and processing this amazing plant.
The four page factsheet tells of how we sow, grow, harvest, ret and process our flax. It describes the various uses for each type of fibre and has recommendations for further reading and research into natural fibres.
